With peggo you can record or download videos and music or sound from YouTube and Soundcloud.
Peggo was discontinued in February 2019. Alternatives include YouTube DLG, Stream and Free YouTube to MP3 Converter.
Before you can download a video with Peggo, you have to search for it in the downloader via the search line and select it from the hit list if it is available. Then a window opens offering options for the download. So you can choose whether Peggo should download a video as an MP4 file or save its sound in an MP3 file. If the latter is the case, Peggo works as a converter, normalizes the volume and removes silence. You can also add titles and artists to both video and audio.
The options also include a range selector with flexible start and end points, so you don’t always have to record the entire length. Thus a song can be cut out of a music video of a concert. However, Peggo does not always allow a shorter recording interval and gives the reason if this is the case.
Peggo is not installed via Google Play. Therefore it is necessary to download the APK installation file to your smartphone first. After that you have to allow the installation of apps from insecure sources in the security settings section and then you can install the APK file, which works with a fingertip. For security reasons, the installation from external sources should then be deactivated again.
