LibreELEC is a media player for the Raspberry Pi, which combines the Kodi Media Center with an operating system. Kodi plays videos and music and displays pictures. The Media Center can also be supplemented with plug-ins that extend the range of functions and make the Raspberry Pi a TV tuner if the corresponding hardware is connected, compatible and installed.
LibreELEC is a spin-off of OpenELEC and must be unpacked after downloading the archive file. The image file obtained must then be copied to a micro SD card which is inserted into the Raspberry Pi. Copying to SD card is possible under Linux with the command dd on the command line or graphically with the “LibreELEC USB-SD Creator”, which is also available from us via the “Download” button.
